Like the picture on top?
I’m feeling abit geeky today. Monday blues. So bear with me.
Today’s post will be interesting. Or Boring. Depends on how you look at it.
I found something here. Its a site called collision detection.
Stability of Four Legged Tables
Its amazing that people actually analyze the stability of FOUR LEGGED TABLES.
André Martin, a physicist actually proved the theory that IF you rotate a round table long enough, you can actually produce STABILITY.
There’s plenty of assumptions that he made actually.
1. Table must be round
2. All legs must be of same length
3. and many others that I do not think i should bore you with.
If you are interested, you can download the whole proof here(PDF here. Please Right Click and Save Target As).
My thoughts
I read the pdf. I am engineering trained. I mean…
I mean I have been through the maths and physics.
I mean I dont really get it. What the….
But I applaud this guy his researching spirit. Should I interview him? What are your views? Please drop your comments. I would love to hear from you.
