Take a look at this very cool coffee table before you read the rest of my post.

I would call it the WEB 2.0 coffee table simply because its interactive like social media.

Basically, the LED lights up when you move your hand over it. Its something like this.

Its simply AMAZING. The coffee table is clever enough only to detect motion. This coffee table is made by Because We Can in conjunction with Evil Mad Scientist.

As you can see in the picture below, the LED lights up only when the cat moves its tail. How cool is THAT?

I really think this coffee table is so COOL… it works by using infra red sensors to sense any kind of movement. When movement is sensed, a signal is produced to turn on the LEDs.

Flexibility

By the way, the “musical instrument” can be used as a coffee table. But, this rumba series table is very flexible in terms of design.

It also allows assembly without tools.(Just attach the legs!)

I would really suggest you check it out, even if you have no intention of buying the coffee table. Its really just for FUN!

Ikea Coffee Table and Drawer

Actually the objective of this post is just to share with you, my coffee table experience. I know maybe some of you might be thinking, hey zhenyao, you have been talking a whole lot about coffee tables. Its all talk and no proof.

Let me prove IT to you then. This is the IKEA coffee table that I have mentioned in my first article(download it here)

Problems

You can see it for yourself. I have problems with IKEA furniture. Not that I hate IKEA. somehow, the quality of their IKEA’s furniture has somehow dropped over the years. Of maybe its our weather in Singapore? Maybe Ikea’s Founder Ingvar Kamprad would like to check on their quality issue.

Actually I found an article about him being one of the richest man in the world right now. For those interested, check it out here. That’s because of the decline of the dollar.

Also regarding the drawer problem, maybe IT’s really ME?! But if its really me, could they possibly provide more detailed installation instructions in their package?
