When Evil Triumps…

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Today I am sharing something else with you. It is something that is not on the bright side.

But here’s the thing, take a look at this first.

You can check out more images here.

Actually I have contacted the designer for the coffee table so to give you the scoop on more about the unique coffee table design. I really hope he will agree to it.

What are your Thoughts

Frankly, I wonder how the designer ever conceptualize this coffee table? But I DO NOT recommend it for people with CHILDREN in the HOUSE.

But maybe Batman should get ONE for himself? What do you think?

I feel the pointed corners might be a little hazardous but its simply too unqiue. Absolutely uniqueness. I do feel the designer has put in alot of effort to come up with something like this.

If you really do like my content, please click on the RSS feed icon to subscribe to my blog. Thank you very much! Drop me a comment if you have anything to say.(hopefully good things)

P.S. I have to admit something. I will not be sharing something with you tomorrow. That’s because tomorrow’s post will be 100% original content!

Round 1 - Coffee Table Vs Coffee Tables

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Are YOU someone who has been very curious since young? Or are YOU someone who likes to experiment things?

Well, you can say I am pretty bored or something, but I am just curious. So I went to GoogleTrends and conducted a very interesting experiment.

What did I do

Basically, I wanted to investigate the trends between coffee table and coffee tables. I wanted to find out whether there are differences or not. So here is the results.

google trends coffee table versus coffee tables

Results and Conclusion

As you can see, more people search for coffee table, then for coffee tables. It appears that google actually interprets singular and plural terms differently. This is not the only thing that fascinates me. Let’s take a look at the next observation.

coffee table vs coffee tables regional trend

You might have noticed something else. There are more people from the UK than from the US searching for “coffee tables” rather than “coffee table”. Do you have an idea why?

I am very puzzled and curious to find out actually. Maybe some coffee table guru could enlighten please? Comments are welcomed!

P.S. - For the curious lot, you might want to VERIFY it yourself here!

The Truth About CoffeeTableZone

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Just 3 more days it will be a month before I blog about coffee tables. Right now my bounce rate for this site is around 60%. I am hoping to improve this. Actually yesterday I was quite happy that my blog had 49 visitors for that day itself. But in a way, I wasnt really happy.

I will be frank to all of you today. Actually I am only two months into internet marketing. I have nothing to hide. You might be thinking, “This guy is here to make us click the cds and let him earn money.” Well, if you want to think that way, I cannot stop you right? Because believe it or not, I just want to help people. I know, I know, you are probably skeptical right?

Now, you are probably wondering, what has this got to do with coffee tables? It doesn’t. Let me share a secret with you. I have a mentor actually. Now, don’t get the wrong idea. I am not promoting anything here.

I feel my mentor is a very successful person. But he has all the qualities for being successful and he works very hard to reach where he is today. You just need one thing actually. The most important factor to success is, you must realise this point, that is

Failure and Quiting is Not An Option

That’s is why, I am not quitting. I know my bounce rate is here. I know I am not an authority in coffee tables. You might be wondering, who is this guy, a mechanical engineer blogging about coffee tables? How can that be? I know you are not buying into my ideas. I know maybe my articles suck and if that is true, please let me know.

I have changed my objectives. Please take a look here.

Last but not least, I am simply not quitting because there is no feedback. I believe one day, I will reach the objectives that I have stated. If you believe in me, stay with me and support me. I know my friend who have known me for years probably wont believe what I am saying now, but I have realised in life, you have to give much much more than you take. Otherwise, even if you have all the money in the world, you live a life without a meaning.

Email Interview With Design Milk

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Recently, I contact the owner of Design Milk and requested her for an email interview. You might be thinking why did I choose Design Milk? Well, its because I like her blog. I think Design Milk is one of the more established but young players. Her blog basically talks about almost everything about design, from furniture, DIY stuffs and more. Here is the interview.

1) Can you give me a brief introduction of yourself, when did u started
out and what do you blog about?

My name is Jaime and I began writing Design Milk in the summer of 2006 because a) I was bored at work, b) I desperately needed a creative outlet, c) I believe that the Internet is one of the most amazing inventions of all time and I wanted to become a part of it, d) I am very independent and I hope to one day work for myself on my own terms.

I’m also an avid blog reader – I have 31 blogs subscriptions on my Google Reader and I periodically visit about 20 others.

2) I understand you have been blogging for more than a year and the half
now. Have you ever thought of stopping n give up blogging? Which is the most difficult part of your blogging career?

I have thought of stopping on days when I am too busy to blog because I have bloggers’ guilt – which is basically feeling badly that I cannot blog all day every day. I don’t like missing a day for any reason.

For me, the most difficult part of blogging is that I currently cannot do it for a living. I wish I could spend my day on the blog and my online shop, vitamin d(esign). Unfortunately, I’m just not there yet.

3) Currently, in your home, which piece of furniture do you like the most?

My favorite piece of furniture is probably my new workstation (I’ve attached a photo). It’s actually a kitchen island I bought from Ikea.

4) Any tips/advice do you have for people looking for coffee tables?
Anything they should be looking out for?

Coffee tables are a difficult purchase because they serve so many functions: dining table, footrest, bookshelf, entertainment center, even storage. When making a decision about purchasing a coffee table, you must first consider its daily functions.

5) what are some of the areas do you think people always overlook when
getting furniture for themselves?

I think the most important thing about furniture is whether you like it. Sometimes liking something is more about function than looks. Sometimes it is about a piece’s past, such as your grandmother’s dining table. For me, form and function must be harmonious. However, I have been known to like some truly hideous things…I guess it sometimes depends on your taste. My
advice is: try not to overlook reality when making a purchase.

6) Any more thoughts or advice you want to offer to my readers?

Thanks for continuing to support bloggers!

I would like to Jaime for agreeing to do the interview with me even though I’m still a new kid on the block. I do urge you to visit Jaime at her blog and check out the latest designs and also her creative and wonderful products. You can also feel free to consult her on her products and advice. By the way, I just checked out her shop at vitamin d(esign). I would say plenty of lovely items. Ladies, do check the shop out!

Please support me

Last of all, if you like what I am giving away to you, please tell others, post a comment, or use any of the countless social bookmarking sites (digg, del.icio.us,
stumbleupon, sphinn, etc…) to help us get these materials out. In return, I will give you more free advice for you. Is that fair enough?
